Proposal and Lightning Talk Requirements

The first deliverables are meant for you to demonstrate that you have thought about your project topic in depth and are prepared to successfully complete the project.  Worth 10% of your course grade.

Lightning Talk

Your 5-minute lightning talk to members of DHAT and Scholars Lab will include similar information to the proposal (see below) but in a different medium.  (You don’t need to present the charter.)  Each member of the team must speak for at least 1 minute.  You can use PowerPoint, Prezi, or any other appropriate tool.  You have limited time, though, so make your presentation seamless, concise, and accessible to a broad audience.

You will submit concise proposal of project, including statement of problem, motivation, related work, construction of research questions, hypotheses, and methodology.  Also include a 1-page charter.  We expect the proposal and charter to be around 3 pages total.  Each group will post one blog entry, containing your proposal, as a PDF.  Email the proposal in Word format to both Professor Sprenkle and Professor Youngman.
